Hague Lake Heights sits just a stone throw back from Hague lake shore, a gorgeous, warm, clear body of water in the middle of Cortes Island. It is nestled among tall trees yet it is as close as the “downtown Manson’s” as it can be. This area is so called for the two Manson brothers that homesteaded here. Our property is very close to the original business spot of Mike Manson who ran a store at Manson’s Lagoon.

The cottage is only a short walk away from Hague Lake and it can be reached by a path at the bottom of the road. The tall shore vegetation is there to protect and attract birds and water fowl to this habitat. Sandy Beach provincial day park is a few steps away on the left. This is a beautiful, public, sandy beach with a shallow water approach to the lake. Further along the beach there is a clothes optional area as well. At the entrance of Sandy Beach Day Park there is also a public access to the Manson Lagoon Park, a marine paradise full of life ready to be discovered. Children and adults alike will delight in discovering this pristine marine jewel where you can go for long or short walks, sit on the beach, watch marine fowl and still gather seafood (license required) for dinner.

Unfortunately, Brambly Hedge is not accessible to people with limited mobility.

*bed linens and towels are supplied; renters must bring own beach towels

BC Ferries reservations are recommended

FACILITIES:
Hague Lake Heights is a bright custom built cottage, completely renovated in 2012. It offers a Living/ Dinning room combination with a full functioning kitchen, electrical stove, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, washer and dryer, toaster and coffee maker; TV and CD and DVD player; WIFI and cellular phone reception is good, but is sometimes a bit unpredictable. Cell phones work on the property but only sporadically on the island.

Water to the cottage comes from a communal system. It is safe for consumption. We have installed a UV and particles filtering system and the water is tested at the beginning of every Summer. There are 2 bathrooms, one is a 3 piece bathroom, laundry facility and one bedroom (queen size bed) on the main floor. We also have a wood burning stove for off season cooler days. Use of it can be arranged.

A large deck is accessible from the living room area through glass patio doors. Here is the barbeque and furniture for al fresco dining.

SLEEPING:
3 bedrooms [one with queen bed and the other with a double] and a full, semi-ensuite bathroom upstairs. The bedrooms have their own little private decks for privacy and quiet retreat.

OTHER AMENITIES:
The property is small and the cottage sits on the side of a hill. There is a fairly steep driveway and ample parking for 2 cars by the front door. The flat area in front of the cottage is set up for badminton games and there are board games inside for evening enjoyment.

Protection and stewardship of the environment is taken most seriously on this island. To do our part we have tried to keep the grounds as close as natural as possible. There is a great deal of wild life milling about, some forms are harder to see than others, but none the less they are here and are an important element in our property. We have had barn and violet green swallows living with us and tree frogs as well.

IN THE AREA:
We are located in the heart of Manson's Landing; the centre of the island. On Cortes there are several restaurants:
*The co-op café
*the Float house
*The Cove
*Hollyhock (vegetarian)
*Cortes Island Café and Trude’s

In the summer there is a fast food shack on the parking lot of Cortes Island Market.
The hub of the island is Manson’s Hall on Sutil point Rd. and notices are posted there.
Dances are held often in the summer.
The Hall has a post office. It is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and has wireless access.
There is also the Cortes Island café, open for lunch on the same schedule.
Cortes Island has a medical clinic and enjoys the service of a doctor and a nurse practitioner.
Local information flyers can be picked up at the post office and they come out every Friday.
VIDEOS and DVD can be rented from the Cortes Island Market and from Squirrel Cove Market.
There is also a public library that is part of the Vancouver Island Regional system. It is open on Monday/ Wednesday/ Fridays 1:00 to 4:00. Due to recent developments, the location has yet to be finalized. There is also a book store and a “woolly” store.

GALLERIES:
Several local artists show their art in galleries and studios across the island. The Old School House Gallery has temporary exhibits especially in the Summer time. Off island musicians also visit our shores and give great concerts from time to time. There is a great local craft store in Squirrel Cove

SWIMMING:
Both, Gunflint Lake and Hague lake are a source of drinking water, no bathing in the lake.

FISHING:
Fishing licences are available at the Cortes Island Market. There are many trout in the lake. You need a licence to collect oysters and clams on the beaches as well.

HIKING/ BIKING:
Don’t leave your bike behind, Cortes Island offers great opportunity for biking as well as hiking. Kwas Park entrance across the motel has a great network of trails for you to explore. There are more public hikes through Linnaea Farm (on Seaford Rd.) and they can lead you to Easter Bluff. This is a more challenging hike.

Brambly Hedge Cottage is situated on the hedge of Gunflint Lake in the middle of Cortes Island. It is a small size lake connected through an estuary to the bigger Hague Lake. Together they form the “fresh water pearls of Cortes Island”. The sunlight hours are long as we enjoy a western exposure.

The cottage is easily accessible by the main road and there is ample parking close to it. We live on the main house of the property year round and we enjoy sharing it with visitors from far and wide, some of them have become good friends and return regularly to rekindle great summer memories.

Swimming in the lake is accessible through our own dock. The water is warm and clear and a great summer delight for children and adults alike. Feel free to bring your kayak, canoe or row boat (and other water toys) to enjoy exploring this quiet (no power boats allowed) body of water right at your door step [watercraft shown in photos are not included in the rental]. The island offers great biking fun as well.

Protection and stewardship of the environment is taken most seriously on this island.
To do our part we have tried to keep the grounds as close to natural as possible, especially close to the water. There is a great deal of wild life milling about, some forms are harder to see than others, but none the less they are here and are an important element in our property. We have barn and violet green swallows living with us and tadpoles and tree frogs as well.

The tall shore vegetation is there to protect and attract other birds and water fowl to this habitat. There are otters and beavers showing up once in a while as well. In the grass there are some snakes, they are armless garden snakes, even so you may want to wear shoes when you venture in the wild part of the property. Deer come in regularly, especially in the evening. At times you may meet our sheep grazing in the meadow. We are part of a co-op with our neighbours and occasionally the sheep need to come here for a bit of fresh grass. They are armless and used to interact with people but we suggest that children be respectful of the animals by keeping a safe distance.

Unfortunately, Brambly Hedge is not accessible to people with limited mobility.

BC Ferries reservations are recommended

Facilities:
Construction on Brambly Hedge was completed 2010. It offers accommodation for a maximum of 5 people, great for small families or 2 couples. As the water is easily accessible we advise small children be supervised at all times.

The kitchen/dining and living room is well appointed, comfortable and relaxing. The cabinets are new. There is a fridge/freezer combination, dish washer, microwave, electric cook stove top and over the counter convection oven.
There is a TV and reception is via satellite. We have WIFI and a phone for local calls, cell phone reception can be spotty at the cottage but there are clear receptions zones on the property.
There is one bathroom equipped with a generous size shower and new washer/dryer combination for your convenience.
For the “barby” enthusiast we have a gas barbeque and a front covered deck to snuggle in with a book and a glass of wine to finish off the day.
We also have a wood burning stove for off season cooler days. Use of it can be arranged.

Denman Island

Gulf Islands
Accommodates:
Comf: 5 Max: 7

This unique waterfront property wraps around a point with a pebbly/sandy cove and a sandstone and conglomerate shoreline stretching for miles both north and south interspersed with tidal pools. Kitchen, dining, and living areas as well as the master bedroom take advantage of these incredible vistas.

Summertime picnics on the deck or the beach give way to roasting marshmallows in the fire on chilly evenings during fall and winter. The house itself is situated on low bank oceanfront with a 270 degree view of the east side of Denman Island, across to Hornby Island and the Coast Mountain Range.

There is easy access to the beach with a path directly in front of the house, by a wide path to the left of the house and a trail to the right of the property. No matter high or low tide, walk straight off the sandstone ledges into the deep green ocean or walk in from the sheltered cove across the sand and pebbles. Swim 50' to our floating swim raft with a water slide.

There is a studio, boathouse, and camping area in the cove yet out of site from the house. These are owner/property facilities and are not rented out to other guests though some of the water amenities are shared (i.e., row boat, dock, etc.). All beach and below-tide areas are for public use though few people venture into this area other than local islanders. The islands natural beauty inspire many artists who live and work in this amazing environment. Opportunities to visit, view, and purchase their work are plentiful. Many workshops are also available. Whatever your interests, there is something here for you.

BC Ferries reservations are recommended

Bed linens and bath towels provided, guests provide own beach towels.

Facilities:
This is a 3 bedroom older style house. The living, dining, and kitchen areas are open plan facing incredible views of the ocean.

The kitchen has all major electrical appliances, microwave, coffee maker, crockery and cutlery. A propane barbecue with outdoor table and chairs makes for a pleasant outdoor meal on the deck off the dining and living area.

There is a separate laundry room behind the kitchen with water/energy saving washer and dryer as well as outdoor drying line off the back steps. We have just recently installed a 2nd toilet in this room.

There is one full bathroom with a shower and a tub. The toilet is low flush. An up-to-date certified septic system was installed in 2009.

There are two wells on the property, both with low volume in the summer so water conservation is required. We ask that guests minimize their use of water during the summer months (i.e., quick showers, hand wash dishes, no lawn watering, minimal laundry).

The water is untreated and you are supplied with two large bottles of drinking water. More can be purchased from the general store as needed.

Heat is electric baseboard and there is also a large fireplace in the living room, perfect to take away any evening chills. Firewood is provided.

Wireless high speed internet and cell phone service are available.

Sleeping:
The house is one level with three steps up to the main entrance.

There are 3 bedrooms, two on the left as you enter, and one on the right.

Facing the water, the master bedroom has a queen bed and a lovely view of the ocean, Hornby Island and the Coast Mountain Range. Large cupboards and a dresser provide ample storage for clothing and summer gear.

The bedroom immediately on the left as you enter has a double bed, a single bed and a closet with a dresser inside.

The third bedroom has a queen and cupboard with shelves.

There are two cupboard areas in the hallway, one for coats and shoes, the other for vacuum, outdoor furniture cushions and storage as required.

Other Amenities:
A good selection of books, puzzles, board games and cards are available.

Outside, there is a large lawn area with opportunities to play bocci, croquet, badminton, and soccer, as well as a basketball hoop.

Young children will enjoy the large asphalt area for tricycling, roller blading, and hopscotch (there is lots of chalk).

There is a swimming raft moored in the cove with a steep straight slide.

Visitors may want to bring flippers, masks and snorkels to explore the sea life around the edges and ledges.

A row boat with oars and four life jackets are for guest use.

In addition, Denman Hornby Canoes and Kayaks are located just down the road (approximately 2 km) where you can go on guided trips or just rent the boats. The sheltered cove make it an ideal place to launch your kayaks (high or low tide) and make day trips in and around Denman and Hornby Islands.

In the Area:
Need anything? Downtown Denman is the place to go!! A character old style General Store with grocery items, fresh bread, local vegetables, government liquor store outlet, a gas pump, and even gum boots. Next door is the post office, then the Community School and Community Hall. Across the street, you will find the hardware store, a gift and bookstore, a real estate office, museum, and Senior\'s (over 45) Centre.

In the same vicinity, there is a turn of the century Anglican church (weekly Sunday services), the Denman Island Arts centre, bakery, cafe, bistro and artist run local craft store and gallery.

Numerous pottery and artisan studios dot the island - take some time to explore the incredible and diverse talent you will find.

Beside the community hall, there is a children's playground, one tennis court, and the community sports field. Drop in sports such as softball, volleyball, and soccer are weekly or bi-weekly events and all are welcome.

Three doctors live on the island and work out of the local medical clinic, which is also close to the downtown area.

There are great walking and hiking trails through the forest and by the ocean in Fillongley Provincial Park and Boyle Point Park, where the trail takes you to a high point overlooking the lighthouse on Chrome Island at the south end of the island.

At the north end is Sandy or Tree Island (marine park), which is accessible at low tide by land or by water at other times. There are a few regional parks to explore as well - ask for a map when you get to the ferry terminal.

Day trips to Hornby Island (a ten minute ferry ride--the terminal is an 8 minute walk away) open up more opportunities to enjoy nature, adventure and culture in our unique gulf islands. The sandy beaches at Tribune and Whaling Station Bay are world famous and Helliwell Provincial Park is home to the northernmost species of protected Garry Oak trees. Walking, hiking, and mountain biking are great ways to explore both islands.

Canoeing and kayaking are also peaceful ways to check out Tree Island Marine Park and Boyle Point Lighthouse on Denman or Heron Rocks on Hornby.

Motorboats and fishing charters are available for those who want to travel further afield by water.

You will also find our local weekly newspaper, The Grapevine, extremely helpful for finding out about current community events (concerts, art shows, studio tours, children's programs, etc.) as well as local tide tables and any fisheries warnings or advice. It contains information for both Denman and Hornby Islands.

For the bulk of your groceries, you may want to head in to Courtenay or Comox, or even across to Hornby Island, where they have a well-stocked Co-op store right next to their Artisan market near Tribune Bay. This makes a great day trip and there are plenty of attractions and sights to see there as well.

Children:
On the right side of the property there is a 15' drop off to the beach below as well the sandstone ledges on the water's edge drop off to deep water. These are areas of concern for toddlers without constant observation/supervision.

Lasqueti Island

Gulf Islands
Accommodates:
Comf. 6 Max 7

This comfortable waterfront cottage is located on 1 acre on unspoiled Lasqueti Island and offers a perfect holiday spot for those who like beauty and peace and quiet - it's quite private and not visible from the road. The island can only be reached by way of a passenger ferry which contributes to the feeling of a true getaway location. The cottage’s sundeck is about 6 ft. from a low bank to the waterfront. Access is by a staircase.

There is a wonderful, wide, view across the Sabine Channel to Texada Island. The house is simply but adequately furnished. Guests may like to bring their own bicycles for shopping and exploring the island.

There are caves to explore very close by. The south end of the island, Squitty Bay is a protected area with a different mini climate and geography of its own.-- very interesting. Hikes along the beach in both directions are fun. It is a very interesting and varied beach with smooth sandstone in some places, or huge boulders that have fallen from the cliffs hundreds of years ago and your normal rocky beach - some large rocks, some gravel areas and some fine sandy beach areas. There are tide pools to explore and animals to watch for. Otters are often seen on the rocks at this property or swimming by and there is an eagle's nest next door - watch them fish occasionally. There is a heron who fishes in front of this property in the evening. There are no predatory animals on Lasqueti- no bears, cougars, wolves, foxes.

Lasqueti has a drier climate than even Parksville and Qualicum. The island is about 13 miles long by about 3 - 4 miles wide. There is one main road down the middle with a few side roads. A main attraction near this property is Jedediah Island, which is being preserved as a sort of park.

Bed linens and towels provided, guests provide own beach towels.

From the main deck of this 3 bedroom oceanfront home enjoy a spectacular 200+ degree panorama with the US San Juan Islands to the East, the Olympic Peninsula and Swartz Bay to the South and Vancouver Island and Salt Spring Island to the West. The marine traffic is fascinating to watch as yachts, sail and motor boats, BC ferries, and ocean going vessels meander in the Haro Strait and Swanson Channel right on your doorstep. Our comfortable, up-to-date, waterfront home sits on a high bank with steps down to the water’s edge and access to the bluff trails. In addition to the spacious covered deck and open deck attached to the house there are two additional decks that provide viewing spots as you travel down the steps to different levels of the bluff. You can sit and read or wildlife watch or barbeque on the upper covered deck even if a BC shower comes along unexpectedly. Sun or nap on the open deck in padded patio furniture. Dine alfresco on the large patio table. Sip a glass of wine as the sunsets take your breath away. To top it off enjoy a private sauna, or not, in the detached cabin where you can rinse off after in a cold-water shower.

Our 2000 square foot, single-level home sits on a south-facing 1.5 acre lot in Magic Lakes on North Pender. There are 3 steps to enter the home. The largely paved driveway is easily traversed all year round by any type of vehicle. In addition to sewage and water being provided by the community systems, we have a whole-house water filtration system installed also. There is an attached covered car port.

As small to large pods of Orcas travel among the islands you get a front row seat as they cavort in front of our home. During the summer months that is usually a daily occurrence. Deer are plentiful and very comfortable with humans. One of our favorite sights is the newly birthed fawns sitting outside the kitchen window in the mornings. On odd numbered years the pink salmon run in the channel in front of our home. Watching the commercial fishing boats haul in and sort their catch is fascinating. They compete with privately owned craft and eagles vying for the feast. Boats troll for large prawns during prawn season.

Directly below our deck in a tall fir tree very near the water is an eagle’s nest in which you can watch the entire mating, nest building, egg laying, nesting and fledging cycle right from the comfort of your lounge chair. The naked eye is sufficient but for those that like to get up close binoculars are provided for easy viewing. The cycle begins mid-February and extends through mid-July most years. This is the only nest on the island where you can actually see down into the nest. An official eagle watcher on the island chronicles the entire nesting cycle each year. If you are fortunate enough to be present when he asks to come by you can hear fascinating stories about the eagles as well as look through his very powerful spotting scope…..makes you feel like you are in the nest with them.

A short walk along paved roads takes you to Magic Lake, a fresh water lake with an oft-visited swimming area and easy access for kayaking.

The Lakehouse and its property allow for relaxing fun such as badminton, bocce, fishing, swimming, and just plain lazing about

This rancher-style home has 3 bedrooms with one and a half baths and will comfortably hold any family. There is a beautiful view of the lake from the living room and dining room as well as the large sundeck off the back of the house.

A canoe is provided for your enjoyment and this area of the lake is renowned for its great bass and trout fishing - you can even fish from the dock! Imagine the refreshing sea breeze blowing its aromas up to you as you enjoy your morning cup of coffee and the ocean views. Be captured by the activities of Fulford Harbour with its little marina, or simply dwell on the passing of a majestic Bald Eagle as it glides seemingly motionless, through the air.

Parents may relax whilst the sunny 1/4 acre, fully fenced property provides intrigue for the children, or perhaps muse over plans to adventure across Morningside Road to enjoy the privilege of private access to one of the few sand beaches on the “South End” of Salt Spring Island.

This cottage was once known as “Herons House”, a name synonymous with some of the wildlife enjoyed around this property and the island in general, ranging from seals, sea otters, swans, whale sightings, birds of prey, etc.

All of this, and the knowledge that you can retire comfortably in 3000 sq. ft. of quaintly Westcoast house. Clean and tidy, with views of calm serenity all about you; family meals or a romantic evening over a bottle of wine are both complimented beautifully on the deck.

Join in the “Spirit of Salt Spring” and feel free to ‘go green’ with this property; offering composting and recycling, as well as enjoy the eco friendly house, garden, and flower beds.

A short stroll will bring you to more of the “Salt Spring Charm” in Fulford Harbour. Here you can explore some of the local galleries offering some unique artwork, ranging from whimsical to the more eclectic. Perhaps nibble on something from the Morningside Organic Bakery as you explore the harbour. Kayak rentals and fishing charters are amongst some of the adventures to be had here. Whilst those of us with children might well appreciate a chance to leave ‘mother’ with a good book, while dad takes the little ones on a 20 minute walk to Stowel Lake, a child friendly lake with great swimming or off on a 5 minute drive to Drummond Park for a picnic or just play on yet another beach.

Day trips are convenient on the ferry service right in Fulford Harbour allowing for trips to Victoria or another of the Gulf Islands.

On your way back to the house, take advantage of the local pub if your in the spirit, or perhaps just pick something up at the Wine Store, I’m sure your day’s adventures can be relived and enjoyed as you rest and recharge in this 3 bedroom house, or lounge in the open plan main floor, opening out onto the views all the way down to the San Juan Island. With a 4 piece bathroom upstairs complete with a claw foot tub for soaking, this property will leave you feeling refreshed in body and soul.

Clean and quiet, older rustic cabin on a private wooded property on St Mary Lake. New Stove, refrigerator and flooring. TV (HD with cable), DVD player and older X-Box + DVD\'s and games. A dock and direct low grade walk in access to freshwater lake for swimming and fishing + a row boat and 2 kayaks. A perfect place to find peace of mind, to write that book or for kids to play. Blackberries, blueberries and apples (in season).

This cabin is near the end of a dead end street with immediate access to the lake less than 20 yards from the bottom of the balcony steps. It faces west and gets late sunlight during the summer months and is across the lake from protected forest land. There is a working sheep farm on the far side of the forest and sheep are heard and seen drinking from the lake often. Expect regular visits from deer, rabbits, eagles, woodpeckers and hummingbirds – there are no predatory animals on Salt Spring.

This lake is a water source for most of the Island so powerboats, thank you. The lake is excellent for swimming between June and September and those who are inclined to fish enjoy the stocked supply of trout. There are many waterbirds on the lake such as loons, swans and ducks (in season) as well as frogs and turtles and otters.

This lake is actively patrolled to protect the water supply as well as for fishing licences and life vests. The lake can have a fair amount of reeds depending on the nature of the growing season.

The cabin is about 850 square feet The living room/play area looks out onto the lake with a wide panel of older windows (it can get quite warm inside during those few days of high summer when there is no breeze – go swimming). There is a separate eating area adjacent to the kitchen as well as a picnic table outside – most of our time here is spent on the open balcony or on the dock where there are several chairs.

This cabin is older and is NOT infant or toddler proofed in any sense although our daughter has spent most of our free time there since she was 3 months old. There is a playpen and other kids items available but the balcony is open to an 8 foot fall as there are wood and cement stairs as well as the expected tree roots that are a tripping hazard, Obviously, all children must be carefully monitored on the dock and around the lake. Otherwise the property is very private with one friendly and helpful neighbour immediately to the south. We ask that all guests respect the solitude and privacy that we get from this neighbour.

Access to this cabin is down a fairly steep driveway that can be muddy slippery when there is a LOT of rain (winter). However, the driveway levels off to a flat parking area with level access into the cabin through a small carport/storage area. A friend of ours in a wheelchair has visited us here.

There is a Weber BBQ with a portable electrical starter (briquettes) required and lighter fluids and other combustibles are not recommended. There is an outdoor fire pit and lots of wood available but fire permits are required during the dry season. There are some beach and water toys available as well as some life vests to be used in the row boat or when using the two kayaks. Some fishing gear is also available (and the trout taste great in season). Guests use these items at their own risk.

This cabin has been in our family since the 70's and it is our most precious place on earth. We hope that others will find it to be a peaceful haven in which to enjoy family and to swim, fish, hike and explore the unique place that is Salt Spring Island.

BC Ferries reservations are recommended

Bed linens and bath towels provided
[please wash / dry and fold towels & linens prior to your departure, thank you].
Guests, please provide own beach towels.

Cleaning & Garbage Removal:
There is no caretaker for this property, prior to your departure, guests are required to leave the property in the same clean and tidy and orderly condition in which it was found, thank you.

There is no garbage pick up service at the cabin and guests are expected to remove all garbage, including recycling items. There is a place to do this near one of the grocery stores in town for a small fee.

Facilities:
The kitchen has a new stove, refrigerator and microwave as well as a recently restored countertop and flooring. It is a small but very functional place to cook your favourite meals fully stocked with pots and dishes and cutlery. There is a washer and dryer in the kitchen as well.

The bathroom is small with a stand up shower (no tub) that has been recently been re-tiled and is functional. The cabin runs on a septic tank system. All water comes into the cabin from the lake – some people purchase water for cooking but this is the same water used by most people who live on the Island.

The cabin has woodstove heating, but is unlikely to be necessary in the summer. There is no fireplace.

There is no telephone at the cabin but we get reception for our cellular phone/Ipad etc,,,

Entertainment: one HDTV with a DVD player as well as a number of DVD’s (many for kids) – limited cable access (TSN). There is a CD/Ipod/radio player as well as a few CD’s. Also a first edition X-Box with a few different games. We also keep some kids toys, several board games and crayons around the cabin – we would be thrilled to see your kids’ drawings……or yours for that matter.

Sleeping:
3 bedrooms: master bedroom has king size bed; 2 smaller rooms each with a single bed; as well there is 1 double futon and 1 single futon. There are no doors on the bedrooms.

In the Area:

The town of Ganges is about 15 minutes from the cabin to the south and it is a Mecca for tourists from around the world. There are a few world class restaurants as well as numerous family dining, cafes and pubs available to suit any taste. There are several superb wineries just coming into their maturity further south and Salt Spring goat cheese is also quite famous.
There are many interesting and some challenging hikes all over the Island (Mount Maxwell, Ruckle Point Park) and lots of access to the ocean beaches. There will be maps and special attractions in the cabin for you to consider. Many people enjoy biking all over the island from challenging hills to the more level coastal roads.
There are many spectacular events on the Island all year and the regular Saturday Market is popular with most people. The artist community on Salt Spring is known all over the world and samples of pottery, woodwork, sculpture and painting are everywhere.
There is a fully functional general hospital on Salt Spring with air evacuation facilities as well as many other government services such as an RCMP station. There is a movie house, a full theatre, an indoor swimming pool and 2 large grocery stores and a government liquor store.
15 minutes later you can be back at the cabin and out of the bustling “city”.

Pets:
We have 3 cats who enjoy the cabin as much as we do and, therefore, if you have allergies you should be aware that there may be dander on site despite the new flooring etc..

We respectfully ask that you leave your pets at home both as a courtesy to the neighbours and because of the possible interaction with wildlife.

Children:
We consider our cabin to be a very kid friendly place to play and to learn about the importance of water safety. The extent to which this location is NOT child-proofed is mentioned above and we encourage parents to be constantly as vigilant as usual as your kids play near the woods and the water. Again, the lake is patrolled to ensure all water safety laws are being complied with.

Satori is a concept from Zen Buddhism that roughly translates into individual enlightenment, where all mental activities will be more satisfying, peaceful, and full of joy than anything ever experienced before. The spring flowers will appear more vibrant and colorful and the
mountain stream will run cooler and become more transparent. We have named our home Satori because we hope its abundant natural beauty will inspire Satori in all who visit.

Located on an acre of wooded waterfront property at Southey Point, the tranquil and exclusive northernmost tip of Salt Spring Island. The property is lowbank waterfront and offers a 270 degree sea view. Extensive decking adjoining the house leads to a built in hot tub and outdoor eating area.

It has many extras including a large entertainment sized living room with a panoramic ocean view. The separate dining area opens to a deck which runs the full length of the house. A wooden spiral staircase leads upstairs to a spacious family room. The bedroom wing consists of a guest bedroom with ensuite bathroom, a small children's bedroom, and a master bedroom which opens on to decks and hot tub and includes its own sauna, and dressing room.

Thetis Island

Gulf Islands
Accommodates:
Comf. 6 Max 6

The house is situated just feet from the ocean on 6 private acres of forested land. Step out through the patio doors onto 200 feet of sandstone beach, immediately in front of the house, with a small shell beach ideal for children at low tide. The property is surrounded by forest with many trails to explore. Marvel at the colorful starfish, rock crabs and spider crabs. You can fish from the rocks, dig for clams or jump into the clear waters and swim. Two canoes are available to explore along the coastline or you can watch humming birds, kingfishers, otters and eagles from the deck. Finally slide into the hot tub and relax to enjoy the fabulous ocean views or to gaze up at the night sky and count shooting stars.

This modern home has vaulted ceilings, double patio doors and large windows, providing magnificent uninterrupted views over the Trincomali channel. The views towards the Porlier Pass, Galiano and Valdez Islands can be enjoyed from the deck, patio, hot tub, living room [with new hardwood floor, 2010], and even while preparing a meal in the well-equipped kitchen.
