This rustic but charming and comfortable house is set on a magical 1.2 acre property, with two small creeks and is a perfect holiday spot for those who like beauty, peace and quiet. This idyllic rural island retreat - you can leave the hustle and bustle of Vancouver behind and in just 30 minutes you can be in your own private piece of paradise - has been an inspiration for several writers.

Gambier Island can only be reached by way of passenger ferry from Langdale, on the Sunshine Coast or water taxi from Horseshoe Bay, 45 mins. north of downtown Vancouver.

The property has a lovely all-season English garden with grass and many trees and shrubs and there are partial views of the North Shore mountains. If you should feel the need to escape briefly the serenity that the house and garden provides, you can enjoy fishing, bird watching, hiking, or walk to West Bay Beach and dock, just 10 mins. from the house, where there is safe swimming for children
