Huckleberry Hide-Away:

A lovely new 2-bedroom oceanfront cottage nestled amongst tall alder trees & wild berry bushes on 12 acres of forest. Huckleberry Hide-Away is fully furnished with a gentle fern-flanked path down to 400 feet of secluded beach. A perfect retreat in the woods including an attractive ocean view cabin with loft, hardwood floors, well appointed kitchen, wood-stove with dry wood, and lots of oceanside decks. Everything from luxuriously soft Egyptian Cotton sheets and fluffy towels, to organic shampoo and soaps, are provided for your comfort. This is a place to rest, heal, reflect, read, hike, and play. Take a complimentary canoe out to watch the morning mist rise over neighbouring islands, or watch the sunrise appear from behind the coastal range mountains. Cortes Island is a magical place and there is so much to explore: lakes, beaches, lagoons, trails, local dances and events to attend if you're in the mood. Curl up by the woodstove or relax in the window seat with a book and cup of warm tea. We also have restaurants, gift stores, bike shop, general store, public library, and an organic food co-op.
 
Available for weekly rentals between September 15/08-June 15/09 and may also be available for summer holidays in July/August 2009.

The facilities include 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with electric 4-burner electric stove & oven, full-sized fridge, washer/dryer, 1 bathroom with shower & basin & environmentally friendly composting toilet, woodstove/fireplace, AM/FM radio, CD/Stereo, TV/VCR, telephone, high-speed internet access [bring own computer], oceanfront deck with outdoor furniture, plus rustic outhouse nestled in the forest, and a refreshing outdoor shower.

Sleeping:

Sleeps a maximum of 4 persons in 1 oceanfront bedroom with a queen-size
bed and french doors to deck, plus 1-double bed in open loft overlooking
the living room, and 1-single bed in reading nook.

Other Amenities:

Wooden toys, classic family games, books, video & CD collection.

Nearest City & Airport: Campbell River on Vancouver Island, just a 1-hour ferry ride to Cortes Island.
Nearest store 1 mile north: Squirrel Cove (general store, liquor agency, hardware store, cafe, fuel, craft shop)

Sept & June: $1,200/wk
Oct thru May:  $1,000/wk
July & Aug 2009:  $1,800/wk
