Across the road from Whaler Bay on Galiano Island, this charming old heritage style 4 bedroom home built in 1
991, with an old-fashioned porch - is perfect for relaxing on those hot summer days - and has a south-facing deck. The property extends across the road to the water from where you can explore by kayak the tidal bay and visit Gossip, Lone Tree and other nearby islands.There is easy access across the road to the bay, where there is a boat dock for kayaks and small boats. Larger boats can be tied up at the public dock across the bay. Situated on 1.75 acres, the property slopes with flat areas around the house + play areas, naturally treed and surrounded by Crown Land forest. There is a walking trail through the forest leading up to Bluff Park with its fabulous views. The architecturally designed home is on 3 levels with an enclosed gazebo bedroom on the top floor.
This is an ideal house for 1 or 2 families sharing a vacation together and is a quiet, comfortable retreat from which a group of friends can cycle, kayak and explore this beautiful island. (The cottage described as The Wheatleys Cozy Cottage, is separate on the same 1.75 acre property and would provide ideal extra accommodation for grandparents or a small family when rented in conjunction with this house).
