s gorgeous log home (completed Aug. 1995) is located on two wooded acres with a view of Tyaughton Lake and the surrounding alpine mountain ranges. An easy walk through a lightly wooded area leads to private lake access and a beach just 150 metres from the front door. 100 metres in front of the house is a quiet dirt road leading only to the other 2 log cabins in the area. The lake is warm enough for swimming and boating in the summer and offers excellent fishing. In winter there is skating, ice fishing, x-country skiing and snowmobiling on the frozen lake.Just a 5 min. walk away is Tyax Lodge with many services including dining room and lounge, and outdoor activity rentals e.g. tennis courts, horseback riding, fishing equipment, x-country & heli skiing, snowmobiling, mountain bikes, sailing, ATV rentals and a seaplane to rent for sightseeing and fishing trips. The area offers excellent nature paths, hiking & mountain trails, gold panning and hunting.

"Nestled in the Southern Chilcotins on the shores of Tyaughton Lake Mule Deer Lodge is a dream home away from home. With views of snow covered peaks up to 9000 feet it was the best 4 days I've ever spent. This area is quickly being recognized as one of the best places in the world for Heli skiing with access to 300 named and mapped runs in an area of 830,000 acres with an abundance of dry powder and plenty of sunshine. Mule Deer Lodge with its 5 bedrooms, 3 bathroom, fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities it has all the comforts of home and than some. I just loved the vaulted ceiling overlooking the stone wood burning fireplace, as well as the hot tub and sauna for soaking in after a days adventures. I'm not one for staying inside as I love the outdoors but this place is so nice, I could have spent the whole time inside playing scrabble, watching movies and hanging out. It's so cozy and luxurious. With sat t.v., high speed wireless internet, stereo, phone everything is at your fingertips. It is easy to understand why royalty has stayed here, for a little piece of heaven and an adventure of a lifetime this is the place to go. Check out B.C. Magazine Spring vol.51 2009 issue which featured this area for its spectacular mountain biking in the alpine and sub alpine of the Taylor Basin and Spruce Lake Protected area. Mule Deer Lodge is also walking distance to Tyax Resort which offers fine dining, horseback riding, mountain bike rentals, boat rentals, ATV rentals, and float plane rentals in the summer."
