Solitude and tranquility await you at Goat River Lookout. The Goat River is about 100 feet from the house and fronts the entire south-southeast border of the 7.5 acres and curves into rapids at the end of the lawn. You can hear it rushing over the rocks from inside the house and all parts of the property. A 30 foot long, solar heated pool is built into the front deck facing the river. You can walk out to the deck and pool from the garden door in the master bedroom where a two-sided fireplace divides the room from the spacious bath. A large, modern island kitchen looks out over the dining room and into a huge living room. The bedrooms are fitted with 600 thread-count linens, fluffy hypoallergenic duvets and reading lamps on tables. All rooms in this house built in 1995, have vaulted ceilings and windows that view either the river or cedar shaded lawns. A rocky point on the far south of the property [which faces S/SE] has the perfect firepit for wiener roasts. You will feel like you are in the wilderness yet you are only minutes from the orchards, fruit stands and amenities of Creston.
The yard site is flat and is bordered by the river and forest, although the access to the property is hilly and steep. The southeast bank of the river valley rises steeply from the opposite shore and mountain tops are visible over the hills.
Goat River is very swift where it runs by the property into rapids. Swimming is not recommended in the river, but the fishing is excellent. The pool is at deck level [there are no guard rails]. The driveway is very steep and four-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicles are necessary in the winter.
Bed linens and bath towels provided, guests provide own beach towels.
