This recently renovated old-timer Queens Bay cottage, set on a 1/3 acre of south-facing property in the West Kootenay region, provides a breathtaking southern view of Kootenay Lake and the Purcell Mountains. From the sun-drenched porch, kitchen, dining area and through the french doors off the master bedroom view the spectacular lake, incredible mountains, and abundant wildlife.
The bay is ideal for swimming as some of the warmest lake temperatures are found here. If swimming in the lake is not your pleasure, enjoy the lakeside solar-heated pool either for swimming or just relaxing poolside with a drink and watching the world and the ferries go by. Try tossing a line in the water and catching a trout from the pool deck or the beach.
Enjoy evening BBQs on the romantically lit pool deck. Experience 144’ of pebble beach for swimming, boating, fishing, sunning, and stargazing. Tiered, treed and landscaped grounds provide tranquility and shade. Recreation pursuits are many and varied, and include skiing, golfing, natural hot springs, hiking, fishing, biking, boating, the arts and sight seeing and are less than one hour from this extraordinary fully equipped four season vacation destination.
The cottage is about 40ft from the water. There is a metal fire pit on the beach. Fires are permitted except when there are bans during the summer. You must supply your own firewood, usually driftwood that is found on the beach. We supply a water cooler, and water may be obtained from the local grocery store in Balfour, or from Nelson, or one could be brought from home. There are empty water bottles that can be used to purchase water in Balfour.
