Keats View Cottage is a 2 bedroom ocean –view 1930’s era cottage located 2 kilometers from the charming village of Gibson’s Landing on the beautiful Sunshine Coast. The cottage is family friendly, with a well-equipped kitchen, large south-facing deck for barbecues, and a small garden with shady gravel paths where something is always in bloom.
This is a bright and comfortable cottage, with an airtight fireplace for cooler days. One bedroom features a high quality queen bed, while the second has double / single bunk beds. The bathroom is recently renovated and features a claw foot tub.
Soames beach and the hiking trails of Soames Hill are both located less than 200m away. Soames beach offers swimming, beachcombing, a place for evening bonfires or a pleasant stroll into Gibsons Landing.Gibsons Landing is where the ‘Beachcombers’ TV series was filmed and Nick Adonidas’ boat, the Persephone is on display in the centre of town. Boutiques and galleries, a museum and a variety of restaurants are waiting to be explored. Fishing charters and kayak rentals are available from the harbour, which is bordered with a pleasant seawall walkway. A jazz festival in June, Sea Cavalcade (fireworks, parade and family events) in July and a Fiber Arts Festival in August, along with weekly markets and free concerts in the park mean that there is always something happening in Gibsons Landing.
Keats View Cottage is just 90 minutes from the heart of downtown Vancouver by bus and ferry, allowing guests to sample the sights of the big city in a day trip from the cottage. Other memorable day trips include an easy hike into the picnic area at Smuggler Cove Provincial Park, a visit to Sechelt’s sparkling Aquatic Centre or a full day excursion and hike to see the remarkable tidal phenomenon at Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Park.
Keats View Cottage is ideally suited to families that want to experience an old-fashioned cottage holiday. Spend some quality time together: Read, talk, sleep, cook a great meal together, play games and hang out at the beach or in the village. You’ll love your time on the Sunshine Coast!BC Ferries reservations are recommended

In the Area:
Hiking, swimming, biking, shops and galleries, museum, restaurants, fishing, kayaking, golf, provincial parks, ferry to West Vancouver at 2 km.You walk 40 metres down the road, then follow a tree-lined dirt road a short distance down to the beach.
It is a 2 km walk (25 min) into the Gibsons Landing area of town (the harbour) where there are boutique style shops, antiques and art galleries, restaurants and a convenience store but the two grocery stores (IGA and Super Valu) are 4 km away in the upper town - up a hill.
The good news is that there is a bus stop 40 m from the cottage, and service is every half hour into both Gibsons Landing and the upper town The Super Valu is in a mall on the bus route that also has a liquor store, London Drugs, book store, Starbucks and other merchants.
The same bus also goes to the ferry terminal at Langdale (2 km) where you can walk on to the ferry (40 min passage) and then connect to a Fast Bus that goes direct into the heart of downtown Vancouver in 30 minutes. A separate bus fare is paid for trips from the ferry terminal in West Vancouver into downtown Vancouver . The owner has frequently traveled by public transit to Keats View from the office in downtown Vancouver after work, and the connections are very good.
For a non-driver, Keats View is fairly ideally located since the one bus will take you nearly anywhere you'd care to go, including to the very small neighbouring community of Roberts Creek (a famous fresh/whole foods cafe) and the bigger town - Sechelt which is 22 km away. Bus and Ferry schedules are included in the Visitor's book at the Cottage, along with lots of other information such as local restaurant recommendations.

"...The location was convenient to the ferry, the beach and Gibsons, where we particularly enjoyed the gelato. The view from the balcony and the lush gardens surrounding are so beautiful. Even the weather co-operated. Thank you so much for a very memorable weekend....For us, your cozy cottage has been perfectly situated: close to our friends, yet a peaceful retreat for our own quiet time. We loved walking to Gibsons, particularly along the beach when it wasn't raining....
Our little boy had the greatest time visiting Dougall Park, the beach, picking blackberries at Soames and gelato at Mike's. We loved sitting on the deck with a glass of wine and exploring the local villages with our 2 boys. Thank you, we hope to return....
Thank you so much for letting us stay at your lovely cottage. Cozy and comfortable with everything that one might need, it was a real pleasure....
My parents, my kids and I had a great time- the cottage was sweet and well kept. We loved the gardens and location! The weather made for a fantastic vacation! Thanks so much for sharing your cottage!..."
