The Nest

Surround yourself with the view of the beautiful snow-capped mountains and the powerful Fraser River - only a 2-hour drive from Vancouver, BC. The area is rich in opportunities for hiking, swimming, mountain biking, river rafting, and more.


This 1,200 square foot cabin is facing the river. The property to the left has not been developed which lends itself to more privacy. On the right, the house is located up the hill so there are no neighbours directly on either side.


During the evenings, enjoy socializing outside at the fire pit. An outdoor table with benches is available. The back area is lush with trees and plants. Head up the path to find a grassy area for kids to play or hang out. Walk down to the Fraser River and enjoy the sand between your toes or the rocky areas of the beach. During the spring and summer months fishermen are actively working to catch salmon.


Sit out on the porch to the view of the river, and watch the blue jays and humming birds. You'll also hear the sound of the trains up the hill and across the valley as they pass by, a reminder of the impressive history (gold rush and railway) of this very small town. Visit the local Trading Post, restaurant, and historic church and museum, all a 5-minute walk away.


Retreat to this cosy cabin, complete with appliances and amenities that will easily accommodate your healthy lifestyle. This is also a non-smoking and drug free accommodation. Fully insulated, this two-bedroom abode lets you vacation any time of the year.

Across the river and up the hill from The Nest are cargo and passenger trains that travel through Yale throughout the day and night. If you enjoy the sound of trains you will truly appreciate staying here. For light sleepers, we recommend ear plugs at night if the windows are kept open.

2 bedrooms; 2 bathrooms [one has sink, toilet and bathtub, the other has a shower only]; fully equipped kitchen [including a cappuccino machine, coffee maker, popcorn machine, food processor and Vitamix Blender]; 10'x8' living room, separate dining room; washer/dryer; wood stove [wood supplied]; washer/dryer; TV [no cable/satellite]; VCR/DVD; CD player with radio; telephone; ceiling fans in the kitchen/living room/ master bedroom [house is quite cool in summertime]; propane furnace; small portable gas BBQ ; On the second floor, attached the the master bedroom is a smaller room at the back of the cabin. This room has closet with shelves and storage space. This room can be used as a yoga or mediation space.  Pay as you go internet connection [bring own laptop].

Sleeping:

2 bedrooms: master bedroom has queen bed; second bedroom has double bed

Other Amenities:

picnic table & benches by fire pit and 4 chairs on the porch; board games and puzzles; smoke alarms; fire extinguisher

In the Area:

Local historic museum and church in Yale; many fantastic hiking trails, river rafting, Hell's Gate Tram; "Lake in the Woods" swimming 15 minute drive; Hope [approx. 20 minutes] has a movie theatre, shopping, medical care, pub, and activities. There is also a Native Gallery/store in Hope.

Guests:

The Nest is suitable for up to 2 couples; 1 couple with a child (babies and children aged 6 years and older); or 1 couple and one additional adult.

$800/wk Friday to Friday

$485/long weekend 3 nights (Friday - Monday)

$595/super weekend 4 nights (Friday - Tuesday)

Rates are subject to the following:

• 8% Hotel Room Tax [HRT]
• 3% credit card fee applies to amounts charged to your card
