Relax and enjoy the spectacular oceanfront view of the tranquil inner harbour of Nanaimo, replete with islands, sailboats and the occasional float plane, from the balconies or wall to wall windows of this contemporary townhouse. This vacation townhouse, built in 2009, is truly a home away from home! It features an open-concept plan with three floors, new modern furnishings, and original artwork. The main living level boasts a spectacular kitchen with Bosch appliances, granite counter top and all the amenities; a convenient half bath; dining room; living room with electric fireplace, large flat screen TV and BlueRay disc player; a balcony on the waterfront side; and a private deck off the kitchen, equipped with barbeque and outdoor dining facilities.
Both bedrooms on the top level have their own three-piece ensuite and the principal bedroom on the ocean side has a balcony – the perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning sun! A Bosch washer and dryer are also found on the top level. The entry level has a den that can be used as an optional bedroom when needed, a walk-out front patio and access to kayak and bike storage. Crave some excitement and some island culture? A Farmers’ Market, restaurants, pubs, live music venues, museums, art galleries, a vibrant art community, shopping, and more are only a short bike ride or a 15 to 20 minute stroll along the sea wall from here. From this central location on the east coast of one of the most beautiful islands on earth, you can sample a myriad of recreational activities, both close by and a short drive away: a kayak launch just steps away from the front door, a short ferry ride to Newcastle Island Marine Provincial Park, year round golf at 20 courses in and around Nanaimo, hiking, spelunking rock climbing, and a short drive or ferry ride to excellent winter ski areas.
Nanaimo is also conveniently located to explore Vancouver Island and the gulf islands. Departure Bay Ferry Terminal, only a fifteen-minute walk away, offers ferry service to Vancouver. Float plane terminals with 20-minute service to Vancouver Airport are only a ten-minute walk away. Nanaimo Airport offers service to Vancouver, Victoria and Abbotsford. There are two ferry terminals in Nanaimo, both serving Vancouver and several Gulf Islands, each with it’s own culture and attractions.
