Soak in the fabulous ocean / mountain and island views from this 1500 sq. ft, 2-level North-East facing, oceanfront condo in a well-maintained older complex, views are especially enjoyable from the easy-to-walk on rocky beach - Why not indulge yourself in a refreshing ocean swim while on the beach.... or wait and pamper yourself in the hot tub or a swim in the heated outdoor pool.Walk along the waterfront from the communal garden - or take strolls along the beach at low tide while Investigating the tidal pools - which is a great West Coast past time.
From the living room and the deck enjoy east views of the beach and open sea towards the Gulf Islands including Thetis Island.
The kitchen has a cozy west facing balcony and there is another cozy balcony, west facing, off the downstairs bedroom.
BC Ferries reservations are recommended

2 levels; 2 bedrooms; 2 full bathrooms, 1 up and 1 down; Cable TV [Shaw - approx. 50 channels] and wireless Hi Speed Internet; DVD player; phone [for local calls only]; Cell phone reception is good [check with your cell phone provider to confirm your service areas]; Large wood burning fireplace [wood is not provided]; Each bathroom has bathtub with shower, toilet, basin, and make-up area with chair; Full kitchen; microwave, small dishwasher, electric stove, fridge, coffee maker, toaster; Shared: swimming pool, hot-tub, BBQ, tennis court, children's play area which has a climbing frame and slide, seasonal dock with free moorage, laundry room.
Sleeping:
2 bedrooms: Downstairs has twin beds that can be pushed together to make a King sized bed [actually King width and Queen length], medium softness mattress, 2 down pillows, 2 poly-filled pillows - as well as a small TV with VCR, coffee maker. Upstairs bedroom has Queen bed, 2 down pillows, 2 poly-filled pillows and full bathroom. Living room has a queen sofa bed suitable for child who may prefer to be on the same floor with parents
Other Amenities:
Some books, magazines; cards; games. Open parking just outside, well treed in between. Stairs to the unit. the outdoor furniture on the deck is all season, cushions for the 4 seats, are kept indoors in the winter [please don't use sofa cushions] Dock is seasonal, available starting the May long weekend [dependent on weather], and taken out in the Fall. The main deck has year round table and chairs, is covered and has a sun umbrella. Seats in the garden overlooking the beach for reading and watching the view. Great boating location for small to medium boats, canoeing and kayaking, water skiing. Surrounding area suitable for cycling and walking. Blue Heron Park is easy walking distance. Outdoor tennis court; Good location for families, as easy walking distance to Yellow Point Lodge [which does not accept children]. Children are very welcome at this condo - please ensure that children are supervised at all time around the beach and swimming pool.
In the Area:
15 minutes from Nanaimo Airport; 15 minutes from BC Ferries Duke Point Terminal, or 30 mins from BC Ferries Departure Bay Terminal. 10 mins from excellent restaurant [Mahle House on Cedar Road]; British-style pub [the Crow and Gate on Yellow Point Road], good grocery store, bank in Cedar Village, 15 minutes from larger shopping centre with major grocery store [Country Grocer] pharmacies and private liquor store, all in Chase River, which is North on the Highway opposite the hardware store RONA]. 20 mins to Ladysmith, 20 mins to Chemainus [excellent dinner theatre, good food, professional actors], and 30 minutes to Nanaimo, more restaurents, cinemas, medical walk in clinics.
Westwood Lake Tennis Club is open to the public for lunch and dinner, lake front [booking essential..250-753-2866]; Cottonwood Golf Course close to the Nanaimo airport, about 10-15 minutes away. Yellow Point park has trails through the forest and is very pretty. Nanaimo has waterfront walk way from the centre of town to the ferry, with parks and large childrens' play area. Three large public swimming pools.
Rates:
mid June to end of September: $1495/wk
balance of the year: $950/wk or $395 for 2 nights, $195 each additional night
Rates are subject to the following:
- 12% Harmonized Sales Tax [HST]
- If you choose the option of paying by credit card, 3% credit card fee only applies to amounts charged to your card
- $42 booking fee
